Smooth international trade! On September 15, Mayor of Yantai Zheng Deyan and Mayor of Pinsk, Belarus, Lebokowitz, signed an agreement on the conclusion of a friendly and cooperative relationship between the two cities. Pinsk became the 46th international sister city of Yantai.

This year coincides with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus. Over the past 30 years, with the joint efforts of the two governments and peoples, China-Belarus relations have achieved fruitful results. The two sides have become comprehensive international trade strategic partners with mutual trust and win-win cooperation. In recent years, Yantai City has resolutely implemented the consensus reached by the two heads of state, and actively promoted friendly cooperation between the two sides in the fields of economy and trade, science and technology, education, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges under the "Belt and Road" cooperation initiative. In 2021, Yantai City and Belarus's international trade exports will reach 383 million yuan, an increase of 11.5%, covering aquatic products, auto parts, machinery and other fields, showing the close international trade cooperation between the two sides.

Pinsk City is located on the Pripyat River in southwestern Belarus, Brest Oblast, with a population of 133,000 and an area of 47.4 square kilometers. It is an industrial center of Belarus and an important station for the river port railway. Industry is dominated by machinery, shipbuilding, wood processing, food processing, textiles, etc. It is the center of land irrigation and soil improvement in Belarus. Yantai University signed a memorandum of cooperation with the city's Polesk State University to carry out teacher-student exchanges and cooperation in education and scientific research.

Yantai and Pinsk have formed a good relationship, which has broadened Yantai's circle of friends in international trade, and is of great significance to Yantai's integration into the "Belt and Road" construction and the development of economic, technological, educational and cultural cooperation with Belarus.
