2022-10-13

Recently, in the assembly workshop of Jiangsu Hangao Machinery Co., Ltd. located in Rucheng Street, Rugao City, Jiangsu Province, workers stick to their posts and rush to produce a batch of ordered products for export to Europe.

A few days ago, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade released a survey report on the foreign trade situation in the third quarter. The report shows that the effect of the implementation of the package of policies to stabilize the economy and the policy to stabilize foreign trade began to be concentrated in the third quarter. In the first half of the year, the problems of freight rates, energy, capital, and exchange rates, which were strongly reflected by enterprises, were significantly alleviated.

"Generally speaking, my country's international trade enterprises' confidence expectations have been significantly enhanced, and they have continued to show strong resilience." said Sun Xiao, spokesperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Secretary-General of the China Chamber of International Commerce.

According to the survey, 45.1% of the international trade enterprises indicated that their confidence in foreign trade development gradually recovered in the third quarter; 30.31% of the foreign trade enterprises expected the annual trade volume to achieve year-on-year growth, which was 4.09 percentage points higher than that in the second quarter; The situation is more optimistic, with small and micro business expectations, although weaker, improving from the second quarter.

Specifically, the development of foreign trade shows the following characteristics: First, the export volume and profit of foreign trade enterprises are both good. The trade volume of 22.69% of the companies increased month-on-month, and the profits of 19.52% of the companies increased month-on-month. Second, the international trade export profits of high value-added industries have grown significantly. The growth momentum of foreign trade in industries such as railway, ship, aerospace and transportation equipment, papermaking and paper products, special equipment manufacturing, and automobiles is relatively strong. 40%, 39.29%, 35% and 28.28% of enterprises respectively achieved a month-on-month increase in export profits. Third, with the deepening of enterprises' understanding and application of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), ASEAN has become the largest source market for China's foreign trade orders. The top three sources of new orders for foreign trade enterprises in the third quarter are ASEAN, the EU and the United States. , accounting for 30.6%, 30.55% and 25.29% respectively. Fourth, foreign trade enterprises have high expectations for new forms of trade and new models. 46.7% of enterprises believe that comprehensive foreign trade services have the greatest effect on export promotion, and 22.52% of enterprises believe that cross-border e-commerce plays a greater role.

This survey also reflects the main difficulties and demands of foreign trade enterprises. "Currently, foreign trade companies are facing multiple problems such as shrinking external demand, insufficient orders on hand, high comprehensive costs, repeated epidemics, and increasing economic and trade frictions," Sun Xiao said. According to the survey, 60.02% of companies said that the decline in orders was the biggest difficulty they faced, 51.83% of companies felt the diversion of orders, 56.22% of companies believed that raw material costs had risen, and 47.68% of companies reported that the epidemic affected production.

The policy appeals of international trade enterprises are mainly reflected in three aspects: First, continue to increase the implementation of tax reduction and fee reduction, continue relevant tax reduction and exemption preferential measures, and help enterprises reduce costs, increase confidence, and solve problems. The second is to speed up the resumption of domestic offline exhibitions, actively organize foreign trade companies to participate in overseas exhibitions, and improve the convenience of cross-border personnel flow. The third is to increase the training and consultation of foreign trade enterprises using the preferential policies of the free trade agreement, help enterprises to effectively deal with international trade and economic frictions, and comprehensively improve the ability of enterprises to use preferential policies and fight external risks.

It is understood that the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, as the management department for participating in economic and trade exhibitions abroad, has launched targeted measures to resume overseas economic and trade exhibitions in a timely manner. It will be regarded as an offline exhibition abroad, and the project approval document will be issued. In the near future, the pilot examination and approval of exhibition organizers will be promoted to key countries and key exhibition group projects related work.
