Steady development of international trade China Malaysia "two countries, two parks" for te

2022-10-27

Lin Wanfeng, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia, said recently that Malaysia welcomes more high-quality Chinese enterprises to invest in Malaysia. It is hoped that both sides will work together to develop the "two countries, two parks" between Malaysia and China into a new model of international cooperation that enjoys global reputation.

According to the information provided by Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group on the 15th, Beibu Gulf Holdings (Malaysia) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Group, has recently been granted the Public Utilities Power Operation License of Malaysia China Kuantan Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as Malaysia China Kuantan Industrial Park), becoming the first foreign-funded company operating regional power grids in Malaysia.

This is a vivid portrayal of the deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and Malaysia. On April 1, 2012, the China Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as the China Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park) was started to build along the Beibu Gulf; The next year, the "sister park" Malaysia China Kuantan Industrial Park across the sea opened, creating a new model of international trade cooperation between China and Malaysia, "two countries, two parks".

Over the past decade, the "Double Parks" have transformed from wasteland into modern international parks, and are building "China ASEAN Cooperation Demonstration Zone" and "an important node of the new land sea channel in the west".

Cooperate to build a cross-border industrial chain

In Malaysia, the bird nests that completed the incubation task were picked by Yannong, sent to the Maoyan Processing Center for pretreatment, and then took a flight to the bird nest processing and trade base of China Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park, the first place for Maoyan to enter China. After the processes of hair soaking, hair picking, shaping, drying, sterilization, packaging, testing, etc., Maoyan is processed into various bird's nest products and labeled with traceable source codes, which are sold to markets all over China.

The bird's nest processing trade base has settled in 14 bird's nest production and processing enterprises, 11 of which have been approved by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China for processing Maoyan, accounting for two thirds of the total number of China (15).

Liu Xiang, deputy director of the Qinzhou Port Area Management Committee of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the China Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park Management Committee, introduced that the park has normalized the export of Malaysia's Maoyan to China and has formed the first China ASEAN bird's nest cross-border industrial chain.

At present, China Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park has developed 25 square kilometers, signed more than 200 projects, and has a total investment of more than 190 billion yuan, forming an industrial cluster focusing on palm oil, bird's nest, biomedicine, electronic information, and new energy.

With the entry into force and implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), Chinese and Malaysian enterprises have further captured the new opportunity to jointly build a cross-border industrial chain supply chain. Gao Pu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Geely Technology Group, said that the auto industry is facing the transformation and upgrading from traditional cars to new energy and smart cars. He hoped to promote the construction of Geely's large-scale parks in Malaysia under the framework of "two countries, two parks" between China and Malaysia.

Previously, the management committee of China Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park signed a cooperation framework agreement with Geely, aiming to promote the cluster development of auto parts, new energy and new materials, intelligent manufacturing and other industries; Jointly build an international trade platform and logistics base for bulk commodities, and explore the linkage mechanism of "two countries, two parks and multiple zones".

Open the port logistics channel

In addition to the unimpeded trade and increasingly expanded financing, the "two countries, two parks" between China and Malaysia have continuously strengthened the connectivity of facilities over the past decade.

Relying on the regional and industrial advantages of the "two countries, two parks", China and Malaysia jointly explore the establishment of a cooperative development model of "port, industry and park". Qinzhou Port has continuously optimized its port facilities and comprehensive shipping service capacity, and will launch China's first automated container terminal for sea rail intermodal transport in 2022.

Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co., Ltd. actively participated in the construction of Kuantan Port, invested in the construction of two 150000 ton deep-water terminals, opened a two-way container direct route from Qinzhou Port to Kuantan Port, and provided logistics transportation guarantee for cross-border capacity cooperation of "two countries, two parks". Malaysia China Kuantan Industrial Park develops an industrial cluster dominated by steel, tires, glass and aluminum profiles, driving the annual throughput of Kuantan Port to 10 million tons.

Work together for upgrading and development

The "two countries, two parks" between China and Malaysia will open a new chapter of upgrading and development.

In accordance with the Action Plan for the Upgrading and Development of China Malaysia "Two Countries, Two Parks" (2022-2025), the two sides will further coordinate to promote institutional innovation, promote more freedom and convenience in international trade, cross-border investment, cross-border finance, cross-border logistics, cross-border digital economy, cross-border talent flow, create a new mechanism for the coordinated development of "two countries, two parks, two ports and multiple zones", and promote the industrial transformation and upgrading of the two parks.

Lin Wanfeng, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia, said recently that Malaysia welcomes more high-quality Chinese enterprises to invest in Malaysia. It is hoped that the two sides will work together to develop the "two countries, two parks" of Malaysia and China into a new model of international trade cooperation that enjoys global reputation.
