According to customs statistics, from 2013 to 2021, foreign-funded enterprises achieved a total import and export volume of 1640585 billion yuan, with an average annual growth of 25.0%, accounting for 65.4% of the province's total import and export volume, becoming an important supporting force for the province's foreign trade import and export.

Coordinated development of foreign trade, processing trade continues to increase

Shaanxi takes advantage of labor cost to undertake industrial transfer of processing trade, which makes the proportion of processing trade increase year by year. According to customs data, in 2012, the total import and export value of general trade accounted for 56.0% of the total import and export value of the province, while the processing trade accounted for only 29.7%; From 2013 to 2021, Shaanxi's processing trade achieved a total import and export value of 1451.577 billion yuan, with an average annual growth of 28.0%, and the general trade achieved a total import and export value of 665.484 billion yuan, with an average annual growth of 10.7%.

The foreign trade region covers Xi'an with outstanding advantages

According to customs data, in 2021, the total import and export value of Central Shaanxi, Southern Shaanxi and Northern Shaanxi will be 467.239 billion yuan, 5.774 billion yuan and 2.762 billion yuan respectively, accounting for 98.2%, 1.2% and 0.6% of the province's total. Compared with 2012, the total value of foreign trade import and export in Guanzhong region has an average annual growth of 19.8%, that in Southern Shaanxi region is 21.8%, and that in Northern Shaanxi region is 16.3%. As the leader of foreign trade import and export in the province, Xi'an gives full play to the leading role of the central city of the Silk Road, and the scale of foreign trade import and export continues to expand. The customs data also shows that in 2021, the import and export volume of foreign trade will reach 439.996 billion yuan, 5.4 times that of 2012, with an average annual growth of 20.5%, and the proportion of foreign trade in the province will reach 92.5%.
