According to customs data, Qatar's foreign trade surplus in the third quarter of 2022 was 29.5 billion US dollars, an increase of 13.6 billion US dollars, or 85.6%, year on year.
According to customs data, in the third quarter of 2022, Qatar's exports (including exports and re exports) were 38.13 billion US dollars, an increase of 15.44 billion US dollars year-on-year, up 68.0%, and 3.52 billion US dollars month on month, up 10.2%.
The year-on-year growth of exports in the third quarter of 2022 is mainly due to the increase of 14.89 billion dollars or 77.1% in the exports of fossil fuels, lubricants and related materials, 270 million dollars or 13.2% in the exports of chemicals and related products, and 110 million dollars or 184.2% in the exports of miscellaneous manufactures.
According to customs data, Qatar's import volume in the third quarter of 2022 was US $8.65 billion, an increase of US $1.84 billion or 27.1% year on year, and an increase of US $1.13 billion or 15.0% month on month.
According to customs data, the year-on-year growth of imports in the third quarter of 2022 is mainly due to the increase of $520 million in miscellaneous manufactured goods imports, an increase of 44.8%, an increase of $440 million in machinery and transportation equipment imports, an increase of 16.2%, an increase of $360 million in food and edible live animals imports, an increase of 56.0%, an increase of $220 million in manufactured goods imports classified by materials, an increase of 21.3%, and an increase of $190 million in chemicals and related products imports, an increase of 26.9%.
According to customs data, in the third quarter of 2022, Asia is the main destination of Qatar's exports and the largest source of Qatar's imports, accounting for 60.5% and 40.1% respectively, followed by the EU, accounting for 28.1% and 26.4% respectively, and the GCC countries, accounting for 8.3% and 6.2% respectively.
