Yesterday, Changshu Customs held a press conference to report the general situation of Changshu's foreign trade in the first 11 months of this year. According to customs data, in the first 11 months, Changshu's total import and export value was 148.58 billion yuan, up 5.2% year on year. Among them, the export was 103.43 billion yuan, up 12.2%; Imports reached 45.15 billion yuan, down 7.9%. The import and export scale in November was 320 million yuan larger than that in October, with a year-on-year growth of 2.7%.

The increase in the proportion of general trade reflects a higher degree of foreign trade autonomy. According to customs data, in the first 11 months, Changshu's import and export in general trade reached 98.66 billion yuan, up 7.9%, accounting for 66.4% of the city's total foreign trade value. Over the same period, the import and export of processing trade was 30.99 billion yuan, down 1.2%. In addition, with the support of the "Shicaitong" platform, Changshu's procurement trade reached 13.02 billion yuan, an increase of 35.2%.

Private enterprises are the main driving force of Changshu's foreign trade growth. According to customs data, in the first 11 months, the import and export of Changshu private enterprises reached 60.67 billion yuan, up 13%, and contributed more than 90% to the growth of foreign trade. During the same period, the import and export of foreign-invested enterprises reached 87.61 billion yuan, a slight increase of 0.5%.

From the perspective of trade objects, the international market structure has been continuously optimized. According to customs data, in the first 11 months, Changshu's imports and exports to the EU, ASEAN and Japan were 24.25 billion yuan, 24.22 billion yuan and 22.5 billion yuan, up 10.4%, 10.8% and 7.3% respectively. In addition, Changshu's imports and exports to other 14 member countries of RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) reached 57.7 billion yuan, up 6.5% year on year. At the same time, Changshu foreign trade enterprises actively explored the markets of countries and regions along the "the Belt and Road", with import and export growth of 14.9% in the first 11 months.

From the perspective of import and export products, mechanical and electrical products led the export growth, while the import of auto parts grew rapidly. In terms of export, customs data show that in the first 11 months, Changshu exported 48.42 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, up 12.7% year on year. Among them, the export of new energy products such as solar cells and lithium-ion batteries was 8.01 billion yuan and 2.91 billion yuan, up 15.3% and 14.8% respectively. In addition, the export of high-tech products in Changshu increased by 19.2%; Basic organic chemicals reached 4.86 billion yuan, up 29.8%. In terms of import, the demand of automobile and parts manufacturing enterprises increased, and the import of auto parts and accessories was 5 billion yuan, up 17.9% year on year; The import of high-tech products was 7.49 billion yuan, up 8.7% year on year.
