According to the decision, from December 30, 2022, the local competent commercial departments will stop the registration of foreign trade operators.

The head of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce said that the relevant departments would no longer require the market entities applying for the import and export licenses of international trade, the registration certificates of technology import and export contracts, quotas, state-owned trade qualifications and other relevant certificates and qualifications to provide the registration materials of foreign trade operators. This is a major reform measure in the field of foreign trade management. It is an important institutional innovation of the Chinese government to firmly promote trade liberalization and facilitation.
