The import and export of private enterprises contributed significantly to the growth of foreign trade. According to customs data, in 2022, the import and export of Chongqing's private enterprises reached 374.11 billion yuan, up 7.1%, accounting for 45.9% of the total import and export value of Chongqing's foreign trade in the same period, and contributing 156% to the growth of Chongqing's foreign trade. During the same period, the import and export of foreign-invested enterprises amounted to 382.3 billion yuan, basically the same as that of 2021, accounting for 46.9%.

The import and export of general trade grew rapidly. According to customs data, in 2022, Chongqing's import and export of general trade reached 292.82 billion yuan, up 9%, accounting for 2.3 percentage points to 35.9% of Chongqing's total import and export of foreign trade in the same period. During the same period, the import and export of bonded logistics amounted to 165.91 billion yuan, up 0.4%; The import and export of processing trade reached 354 billion yuan, down 2.5%.

The import and export to the three major trading partners remained basically stable. According to customs data, in 2022, Chongqing's imports and exports to ASEAN, the EU and the United States were 126.63 billion, 124.76 billion and 113.48 billion yuan respectively, with an increase of 0.7% to the EU. Over the same period, imports and exports to countries along the "the Belt and Road" reached 221.4 billion yuan, up 0.3%.

The comprehensive bonded zone is the main support of Chongqing's foreign trade. According to customs data, in 2022, the import and export of Chongqing Comprehensive Bonded Zone will be 535.82 billion yuan, accounting for 65.7% of the total import and export value of Chongqing in the same period. Among them, the import and export value of Xiyong and Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Areas ranks the top among the comprehensive protected areas in China.

Electronic information is still the pillar industry of Chongqing's foreign trade. According to customs data, in 2022, the import and export of Chongqing's electronic information industry will be 495.12 billion yuan, accounting for 60.7% of the total import and export value of Chongqing's foreign trade in the same period. Among them, in terms of exports, the main commodities are notebook computers, which export 55.453 million sets, with a value of 177.47 billion yuan, and the volume value is in the forefront of the country. In terms of imports, the main commodities are integrated circuits, with an import of 122.29 billion yuan, accounting for 42% of the total import value of Chongqing in the same period. In addition, the import and export of Chongqing's automobile manufacturing industry amounted to 32.11 billion yuan, accounting for 3.9% of the total import and export value of Chongqing's foreign trade in the same period.
