First, private enterprises are the largest foreign trade entities. According to customs data, in 2022, the import and export of private enterprises in Xiamen will reach 371.43 billion yuan, up 13.9%, accounting for 40.3% of the total import and export value of Xiamen's foreign trade in the same period. During the same period, the import and export of state-owned enterprises reached 325.33 billion yuan, up 6.7%, accounting for 35.3%; The import and export of foreign-invested enterprises reached 225.5 billion yuan, down 11.8%, accounting for 24.4%.

Second, exports are mainly electromechanical products and labor-intensive products. According to customs data, in 2022, Xiamen exported 206.35 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, up 7.8%, accounting for 44.3% of the total export value; The export of seven categories of labor-intensive products, including textiles and clothing, was 131.7 billion yuan, up 5%, accounting for 28.3%.

Third, the import is mainly metal ore, mechanical and electrical products and agricultural products.
