The LEGO Group’s factory in Monterey, California, USA has officially started to expand, increasing production capacity to meet the growing long-term demand of the global market.
The expansion, which includes a fully automated warehouse and a building dedicated to assembling and decorating LEGO products, will complete the first phase of the expansion in 2022, and the long-term investment also includes a new building that will open in 2024.
The LEGO Group is focusing on expanding its global manufacturing network, announcing in June that it would invest $1 billion to build a new manufacturing facility in Virginia. Currently, the LEGO Group has five production sites on three continents, which will be expanded to seven by the end of 2025.
