American toy maker Mattel has signed a multi-year deal with SpaceX to produce peripheral toys and collectibles in 2023. Space exploration-inspired toys will spark kids' curiosity about space exploration, engineering, and related careers.

Mattel did not provide details on SpaceX's space exploration toys, which may be replicas of the aerospace company's spacecraft and rockets. The Astronaut Dragon spacecraft was launched on SpaceX's high-reliability Falcon 9 rocket, the most-flyed rocket in the United States. Mattel may also build a replica of SpaceX's mighty Falcon Heavy rocket that sparked excitement in the rocket world when it launched Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster on a deep-space voyage with a 'Starman' doll aboard .

Mattel has added a "Starman" element to the production of its "Hot Wheels" brand of Tesla Roadster electric car toys.

We can also expect the toymaker to produce replicas of SpaceX's Starship and Super Heavy rockets in development to return NASA's Artemis astronauts to the moon.

The toys will be released next year under Mattel's "Matchbox" brand. In addition to SpaceX's toys, other astronomy-inspired collectibles will be released on the company's direct-to-consumer online platform, Mattel Creations.
