The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Novavax new crown vaccine for adults under emergency authorization on the 13th local time. This is the fourth new crown vaccine approved by the FDA after Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson.

CDC data shows that the number of new cases on the 12th reached 185,000, and the average daily number of new cases in the past 7 days was 123,000; in terms of deaths, 606 new deaths were added on the 12th, and the average daily death toll in the past 7 days was 342 people.

According to a study by the University of Washington, the actual number of people infected with the new crown may be 7 times higher than the statistics because many people choose to self-test at home and not report the results.

According to the latest statistics from Johns Hopkins University in the United States, as of 19:00 on the 13th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases of new crown in the United States exceeded 89.12 million, and the number of deaths exceeded 1.022 million.
