Many medical insurance bureaus carry out investigations

The "Notice of Hunan Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau on Carrying out the Investigation and Registration of Oral Implantation Charges and Medical Service Prices" was released recently, involving various medical institutions (including public medical institutions and non-public medical institutions) that carry out oral implantation services in Hunan Province. The notice requires that the medical insurance departments of all cities and states must complete the survey registration and registration work in their regions before August 28, and submit the statistical information to the Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau in a timely manner as required.

In addition to Hunan, Gansu, Shaanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi and other places have recently issued similar notices. Regarding the purpose of the investigation, many places indicated that, in cooperation with the special treatment of dental implant medical services and consumables charges, it will lay a solid foundation for the subsequent implementation of the centralized procurement of dental implants and standardizing the charges for dental implant medical services. Industry insiders believe that the investigations carried out by the medical insurance bureaus in many places indicate that the centralized procurement of dental implants will be accelerated.

Explore alliance collection

Previously, many provinces have explored the centralized procurement of dental implants or carried out medical insurance price limit work.

Since the beginning of this year, Ningbo, Zhejiang and Bengbu, Anhui have launched the first trial measures to limit the price of dental implant medical insurance and centralized procurement. In April, the "Five Questions and Five Answers" issued by Ningbo Medical Insurance Bureau for the price limit payment policy for dental implant medical insurance showed that Ningbo Medical Insurance Bureau took the lead in launching the price limit payment policy for dental implant medical insurance in the country. Hundreds of medical institutions in the city responded positively and implemented medical insurance. Dental Implant Project. The price limit payment policy of dental implant medical insurance includes three aspects: first, "agreed brand, agreed price", limited to 3,000 yuan/pc for domestic brands and 3,500 yuan/pc for imported brands; the second is the implantation of the agreed brands of the 100 medical institutions currently signed For dental implants, whether paid by medical insurance account or cash, the same price in the same city; thirdly, for dental implants that are not in the brand catalog, the medical insurance account will not pay.

The official WeChat account of the People's Government of Bengbu City, Anhui Province recently reported that, drawing on the advanced experience of Ningbo, dental implants will be included in centralized procurement, and medical institutions will be guided to carry out the pilot project of dental implants from August 1, so as to effectively reduce the public's burden of medical treatment.

In addition, the provincial-level alliance led by Sichuan is actively promoting the procurement of dental implants. In November 2021, the Sichuan Provincial Pharmacy Bidding and Purchasing Service Center issued the "Notice on Carrying out the Information Collection of Some High-value Oral Medical Consumables", covering the medical consumables required for the dental implant system.

In April this year, the Sichuan Provincial Pharmacy Bidding and Purchasing Service Center launched the second round of information collection on high-value oral medical consumables. In May, the Sichuan Provincial Pharmaceutical Equipment Bidding and Purchasing Service Center issued the "Notice on Carrying out the Information Collection of Oral Crown Products", expanding the scope of oral product information collection to zirconia crowns.

As of now, the provincial-level alliance led by Sichuan has not issued specific rules on the procurement policy for the quantity of dental implants. The official WeChat account of the Sichuan Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau announced in April that it will focus on promoting the centralized procurement of the alliance this year, including the provincial alliance led by Sichuan. According to the research report of securities companies, it is expected that the procurement of dental implants led by the provincial alliance in Sichuan will be implemented in the fourth quarter of this year.

The penetration rate is expected to increase rapidly

The dental implant market has a huge space, and the development potential of the domestic dental implant track is optimistic.

Guohai Securities believes that based on the penetration rate of about 200 per 10,000 people in developed countries and regions, and the price is calculated at 50% of the current price, my country's dental implant market space can reach 106 billion yuan, and the high-speed growth of the dental implant track in the next decade is more certain. powerful. The dental implant market consists of three segments: implants, crowns/dentures and restorative materials. Among them, the implant is the core component of the dental implant. There are dozens of domestic implant manufacturers or agents, among which listed companies mainly include Dabo Medical, Zhenghai Biological, Kangtuo Medical and so on. At present, the penetration rate of domestic implants is low. Guohai Securities believes that the total revenue of domestic implants is expected to be between 200 million and 300 million yuan, and the market share is 6.8% based on the market size in 2020.
