China's vaccine cooperation with African countries has achieved good results

Chinese companies play an active role in improving the availability and affordability of COVID-19 vaccines in Africa. Sinopharm China Biotechnology is actively conducting vaccine cooperation with African countries, and has obtained access permits from 47 African countries. The production of vaccines is suitable for people over 3 years old. In addition to supplying new crown vaccines, Sinovac also promotes clinical trials with African countries. A number of cooperations, including research, localized production, and cold chain warehousing, have contributed to the prevention and control of the epidemic in Africa.


It is reported that since the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) was held, China has dispatched 332 additional medical personnel to 19 African countries and trained 3,600 local medical personnel. In addition, the China-aided African CDC headquarters project is expected to be completed in early 2023. After completion, it will further help China and Africa carry out technical cooperation in public health and help Africa improve its epidemic prevention and control capabilities.
