Gabon plans to reduce imports of generic drugs by 30%

Gabon Ministry of Health News on August 19, 2022, Gabon Health Minister Obiang presided over a meeting of drug importers, and the Canadian Drug Administration and other competent authorities attended.

The meeting discussed reducing the import of generic drugs by 30% in the future, involving more than 300 generic drugs and more than 3 million tablets (dose) each year. Ao said that this move will help support the production of generic drugs and the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Canada, so as to implement President Bongo's instructions and allow more high-quality and cheap Gabon-made medicines to enter the market.
