The Hebei Provincial Government Information Office recently held a press conference on the construction of Shijiazhuang Drug Import Port. It is reported that the successful approval of Shijiazhuang's international drug trade import port will give a strong impetus to the development of Shijiazhuang's "100 billion level" pharmaceutical industry cluster and provide strong support for the formation of a new economic growth point of Shijiazhuang's international trade import and export trade.

On August 26, the State Food and Drug Administration and the General Administration of Customs jointly issued the Announcement on the Establishment of Shijiazhuang Air Port as a Drug Import Port. With the approval of the State Council, it was agreed to establish Shijiazhuang Air Port as a drug import port. The successful approval of the drug import port in Shijiazhuang marks that Hebei Province officially has its own drug import port. Among more than 300 cities above prefecture level in China, Shijiazhuang has become the 28th city with a drug import port.

At the press conference, Guan Yuntian, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Mayor of Shijiazhuang Municipal Government, said that the pharmaceutical industry is a traditional competitive industry in Shijiazhuang. The approval of Shijiazhuang's international drug trade import port will orderly boost the high-quality development of the pharmaceutical industry in Shijiazhuang City and even the whole province.

Guan Yuntian said that because there was no drug import port for a long time, the vast majority of imported drugs used in Shijiazhuang needed to be purchased through agents in other cities or by purchasing on behalf of others. The high operating costs, to a certain extent, caused the problem of expensive and difficult drug use for the masses. Therefore, the successful approval of Shijiazhuang Drug Import Port can effectively facilitate the drug import and export business of international trade enterprises, effectively reduce operating costs, and ensure that people can use safe and cheap drugs as soon as possible. At the same time, it will also promote pharmaceutical enterprises to rapidly improve their R&D, production and management capabilities, further enhance their international competitiveness, and optimize the business environment.
