In order to allow the timber to be cleared through customs as soon as possible, customs officers have given up weekend breaks, compressed lunch breaks, and worked overtime to carry out on-site quarantine inspections. In response to the significant increase in imported timber at Meishan Port, Meishan Customs has optimized the timber customs clearance process. Chen Yi, a customs officer in the first inspection section, introduced: "We have adopted the operation mode of inspection, sampling and inspection, to ensure that the inspection is completed within 12 hours of the day. Sampling and submitting logs for inspection, and at the same time strengthening communication with terminal companies, quarantine treatment units, and testing departments, shortening the duration of quarantine treatment, container transfer, laboratory testing and quarantine treatment, and effectively shortening the customs clearance time by more than 6 hours through coordination ."

The improvement of customs clearance efficiency has reduced the cost of goods in port and logistics, effectively alleviated the impact of the surge in imported timber in a short period of time, and solved the urgent needs of timber importing enterprises.
