The train loaded mainly birch lumber, originating in Central and Eastern Europe, weighing a total of 1,612 tons. This batch of wood directly arrived at Shenzhen PingHunan Freight Station after entering Erenhot quarantine.
It is understood that in the past, the import of wood from Central and Eastern Europe mainly relied on sea-rail combined transportation or sea transportation, and the whole process took about 40-50 days. Today, through the China-Europe train, the entire transportation process only takes about 18 days, which can save nearly a month compared with the traditional method, which is beneficial to international timber trading companies.
Since the opening of the "Bay Area Code" China-Europe train in 2020, Shenzhen Customs has streamlined business processes based on the needs of international trade companies, implemented priority review of imported plant products, guided companies to make quick declarations, and "customized" train supervision plans. , Close communication and coordination with the port customs to improve the operational efficiency of the train business, which can reduce the transit time by 30-40 days respectively compared with the traditional sea-rail combined transportation or sea transportation.
At the same time, Shenzhen Customs has also actively participated in the construction of the national logistics hub in Pinghu by strengthening the ties with railway departments and operating enterprises, promoting the local construction of multimodal logistics hubs, and broadening the inbound and outbound logistics channels for international trade. Up to now, Shenzhen Customs has imported a total of 276 containers and 6,804 tons of plates transported by China-Europe freight trains, including pine pine, spruce, and birch plates.
