Customs data showed that the export volume and export value of tropical plywood decreased by more than 70%. The quantity decreased from 830 million cubic meters in the same period in 2021 to 2500 cubic meters in December 2022; The value decreased from US $4.5 million to US $1.2 million, a considerable decrease.

In terms of single species, the export volume of pine decreased significantly by 38%, and the export value inevitably decreased by 44%. According to customs data, the specific quantity in December 2022 was only 183700 cubic meters, a decrease of 38% over the same period in 2021.

The export volume and quantity of pine plywood both showed a downward trend. According to customs data, the export volume decreased by 27% to 13.56 cubic meters; The export value decreased by 37% to US $43.4 million.

With the coming of the new president, Brazil will impose strict restrictions on the logging of the Amazon forest. Although Brazil has tried to reduce timber exports, develop the domestic timber processing industry and increase the export of wooden furniture, it seems that the export data of wooden furniture in December 2022 is not ideal, and the export volume has decreased by 41% to 43.9 million US dollars from 74.5 million US dollars in 2021.
