Xu Niansha, President of the China Machinery Industry Federation, disclosed on the 13th that from 2012 to 2021, the scale of China's machinery industry's international trade imports and exports continued to rise, with the total amount of international trade imports and exports increasing from 647.22 billion US dollars in 2012 to 1038.658 billion US dollars in 2021, breaking through a trillion US dollars for the first time in the context of the global economic downturn. The export value increased from US $350.6 billion to US $676.54 billion, and the trade surplus increased from US $53.9 billion to US $314.422 billion, a record high.

Xu Niansha introduced that over the past decade, China's machinery industry has adhered to foreign exchange and cooperation, promoting the realization of a high level of opening-up. Machinery products are exported to more than 100 countries and regions, and manufactured in China and Chinese equipment enjoy a worldwide reputation.

The proportion of import and export of machinery industry in the total foreign trade of China has increased from 16.74% in 2012 to 17.16% in 2021. Among them, the proportion of imports increased from 17.11% to 20.11%; The proportion of trade surplus increased from 23.36% to 46.48%. These fully demonstrate the important position of China's machinery industry in the global manufacturing industry chain supply chain.

In addition, the export trade structure has been continuously optimized. Over the past 10 years, the structure of China's machinery industry's international trade export products has been continuously optimized, and it is rapidly upgrading from processing trade and focusing on mid to low grade products to general trade and products and complete sets of equipment with high technological content and added value. In recent years, the general trade export of machinery industry accounts for nearly 70%. The export of traditional advantageous products in the mechanical industry such as auto parts and low-voltage electrical equipment has increased significantly in recent years, and the export of products such as complete automobiles and construction machinery in international trade has performed prominently. In 2021, the export volume of complete automobiles exceeded 2 million. The export volume of excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and electric forklifts in construction machinery has increased significantly, becoming the main force driving the total export volume of international trade to a new high.
