Due to China's significant and decisive victory in epidemic prevention and control, GDP will achieve a growth rate of around 5% in 2023; In the 14th Five Year Plan, a number of major projects and key projects have started construction one after another, stabilizing investment continues to increase, infrastructure construction accelerates, special bond investment accelerates, policy banks increase new loans, real estate will gradually go out of the valley, policy measures such as rural revitalization, new urbanization, and major regional development strategies will be further implemented, and the pace of high-end, intelligent, and green transformation will continue to accelerate, The gradual superposition of stock policies and incremental policies will provide strong support for the high-quality development of the construction machinery industry, and the domestic construction machinery market demand for the whole year will be better than in 2022.

There is still pressure in the industry

According to Huacheng Import and Export Data Observation, there is still some pressure on the industry's product line. According to the statistics of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association on major excavator manufacturing enterprises, in March 2023, 25578 excavators of various types were sold, a year-on-year decrease of 31%. Among them, 13899 excavators were sold domestically, a year-on-year decrease of 47.7%; Export 11679 units, a year-on-year increase of 10.9%. From January to March 2023, a total of 57471 excavators were sold, a year-on-year decrease of 25.5%; Among them, 28828 units were domestically produced, a year-on-year decrease of 44.4%; Export 28643 units, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%.

Su Zimeng stated that with the passage of time, the pressure in the later stage will gradually release. In 2023, the construction machinery industry as a whole will show a stable and upward trend, and it is expected that the industry will achieve effective improvement in quality and reasonable growth in quantity. Despite the severe and complex international situation, with the overall advantages of China's construction machinery technology, products, and services, it is expected that the export volume will still maintain a high level.

He believes that the foundation for China's economic recovery is not yet solid, the problem of imbalanced and insufficient development is still prominent, and the triple pressures of demand contraction, supply shock, and weakening expectations are still significant. The stock of construction machinery market in some fields still needs to be digested, and the contradiction of structural overcapacity is still prominent. Due to increased costs, some non road machinery that meet the emission standards of China's three to four countries will also affect customers' purchase of new machines in the short term. The escalation of geopolitical conflicts and the impact of protectionism have intensified the game between major powers in key areas, and developed economies have increased their demands for industrial chain security. International market competition has become more intense, and the export of construction machinery faces certain uncertainties. Therefore, this year, the industry will face both new development opportunities and severe challenges.

High end product development has achieved fruitful results

When summarizing the technological achievements of industry development, Su Zimeng stated that there were numerous highlights in the development of high-end construction machinery last year. Engineering machinery products with high configuration, high efficiency, high reliability and durability have been widely recognized. Benchmarking the demand of the international high-end market and meeting the needs of domestic key projects, industry enterprises have strengthened reliability, durability, adaptability testing, and industrial assessment testing, and the main product performance parameters have been comprehensively improved.

From pilot to promotion and application of intelligent construction machinery, relevant enterprises in the industry have invested a lot of energy and achieved technological breakthroughs. They have achieved a lot of application results in auxiliary manual operation, monitoring and remote control, unmanned driving, fault warning, human-machine cooperation, scene multi machine cooperation, and safety control. At the same time, on the basis of digitalization and intelligent empowerment, the upgrading and replacement of existing construction machinery have been achieved.

Various relevant enterprises have introduced intelligent manufacturing technology, processes, and equipment on a large scale through technological transformation, relocation, product structure adjustment, and new product industrialization, striving to achieve intelligent upgrading. More and more intelligent chemical plants, workshops, and application scenarios have been built throughout the year.

A group of engineering machinery enterprises have been shortlisted for the 2022 Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Factory and Intelligent Manufacturing Excellent Scene List, some of which have been rated as lighthouse factories.

Electric engineering machinery continues to develop rapidly, and electric excavators, loaders, mining dump trucks, truck cranes, forklifts, and lifting platforms all show good development momentum. Among them, the proportion of electric forklifts in the total number of forklifts has exceeded 64%, and the proportion of electric lifting platforms has reached 91%. In addition, a batch of major technical equipment has been well launched and applied in the market, demonstrating the ability level of industry enterprises to serve major needs.

A group of industry enterprises adhere to innovative development, and have achieved new results in the research and application of major technical equipment: 2600 ton off-road wheeled cranes, 2400 ton all terrain cranes, tower cranes with a capacity of over 10000 tons, and ultra large diameter shield tunneling machines have been successfully developed.

Strengthen the construction of weak links

Su Zimeng proposed development suggestions for industry weaknesses. He stated that we should implement an innovation driven development strategy to address common issues and weak links that constrain the development of the industry, and enhance our independent innovation capabilities. Efforts will be made to use contemporary science and technology and advanced industrial organization methods to build a high-level industrial chain supply chain system, so that the construction machinery industry chain supply chain has high-end linkage ability, independent and controllable ability, and self-improvement ability; We will focus on high-level innovation in technology, products, processes, management and systems, vigorously improve the R&D and manufacturing capabilities of enterprises, and constantly enhance the basic soft power and core competitiveness to achieve long-term development.

Su Zimeng suggested that relying on advanced industrial clusters in the construction machinery industry, new industrialization demonstration bases, etc., we should build advanced industrial clusters in the construction machinery industry with distinct characteristics of leading products, high concentration of innovative elements, close and efficient network collaboration, and a complete industrial ecosystem. We should promote the common development of large, medium, small, and micro enterprises, as well as state-owned, private, and foreign-funded enterprises, in order to create a research and development, manufacturing, and service highland with international first-class level, Build a world-class advanced construction machinery industry cluster.

And increase support for technological research and development in the "Five Basics" field, accelerate the improvement of basic capabilities including basic components and components, industrial basic software, basic materials, basic manufacturing processes and equipment, and industrial technology foundation; Actively promote the construction of an industrial collaborative innovation system that covers host equipment and key components, strive to solve the problem of relatively low localization rate of some high-end complete machines and supporting parts, and gaps in reliability and durability, accelerate the breakthrough and industrialization promotion and application of core components and common key technologies.

Efforts will be made to modernize the post market of construction machinery through various advanced technological means.
