According to the statistics of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association on major excavator manufacturing enterprises, in April 2023, 18772 excavators of various types were sold, a year-on-year decrease of 23.5%. Import and export data shows that 9513 excavators were sold domestically, a year-on-year decrease of 40.7%; Export 9259 units, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%.

According to import and export data, from January to April 2023, a total of 76243 excavators were sold, a year-on-year decrease of 25%; Import and export data shows that there were 38341 domestic units, a year-on-year decrease of 43.5%; Export 37902 units, a year-on-year increase of 12.2%.

There may be multiple reasons for the decline in excavator sales.

Secondly, the reduction in infrastructure investment may also be another reason. If the number of infrastructure projects decreases, the market demand will correspondingly decrease, thereby affecting the sales status of construction machinery.

Thirdly, intensified competition may also lead to a decrease in market share, directly affecting sales data. From the perspective of the impact of policy and regulatory changes on the market, policy adjustments such as infrastructure investment and ecological protection may also affect the sales of construction machinery.
