According to industry statistics from the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, the 26 mainframe manufacturers included in the statistics in June 2021 have sold a total of 23,100 excavators of various types. Among them, 16,965 units were sold in the domestic market and 6,135 units were exported.

The sales volume of excavators in June was 23,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 6%, which was narrower than the decline in May and was better than market expectations

In June, sales of 23,000 excavators were down 6% year-on-year, of which 17,000 were domestic, down 22% year-on-year; 6,135 units were exported, up 112% year-on-year, which was better than market expectations. Previously, CME predicted that excavator sales in June fell by 17% year-on-year, of which domestic sales fell by 29% year-on-year, and export sales grew by 72%. The actual domestic growth rate and export growth rate in June were better than expected. If compared with 2019, the sales volume in June 2021 increased by 53% compared to June 2019, a compound growth rate of 24% in two years.

The year-on-year growth rates of excavator sales from January to June 2021 are: 97%, 205%, 60%, 3%, -14%, -6%. In June, there was a 6% decline in a single month, compared with May's -14%, the decline has narrowed.

It is estimated that the sales volume of excavator industry is expected to exceed 380,000 units in 2021, and the growth rate is expected to be 15%

From January to June 2021, a total of 224,000 excavators were sold, a year-on-year increase of 31%; among them, 194,000 were domestic, a year-on-year increase of 24%; and 30,000 units were exported, a year-on-year increase of 107%.

Assuming that the monthly sales volume of excavators from July to December maintains zero growth, the sales volume of the excavator industry for the whole year is still expected to exceed 380,000 units, an increase of about 16%. Zheshang Securities predicts that the growth rate of excavator sales in 2021 is expected to be around 15%.
