U.S. tire imports in the first half of 2021 increase by 36.3% year-on-year

The latest data shows that the United States imported 136.09 million tires in the first half of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 36.3%. Among them, passenger car tire imports increased by 30% year-on-year to 75.55 million; truck and bus tire imports increased by 49% year-on-year to 25.89 million; aircraft tires increased by 3.6% year-on-year to 130,000; motorcycle tires increased by 20% year-on-year to 186 thousand. Million; bicycle tires increased 46% year-on-year to 6.26 million.

In the first half of the year, the United States imported 24.83 million tires from China, an increase of 50% year-on-year. Among them, passenger car tires increased by 79% year-on-year to 1.62 million; truck and bus tires increased by 47% year-on-year to 1.16 million.

In the first half of the year, the United States imported 26.97 million tires from Thailand, a year-on-year increase of 15%. Among them, passenger car tires were 16.17 million, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%; truck and bus tires were 7.2 million, a year-on-year increase of 23%.

Thailand and China are the main importers of American tires.
