2022-01-27

According to a report on January 25, South Korea's LG Chem said that it will export the neopentyl glycol NPG product NPG produced from biological raw materials for the first time. NPG is a raw material for coating agents for coating automobiles, home appliances, beverage cans, etc. LG Chem's NPG has obtained the ISCC PLUS certification for sustainable eco-friendly materials, which are produced from biological raw materials such as waste cooking oil and palm by-products.

LG Chem will supply NPG products produced at its Yeosu plant in South Korea to an Italian eco-innovative bio-enterprise. LG Chem explained that with this export, we have taken the first step towards the European market, where we focus on developing eco-friendly products. Taking this as a starting point will accelerate the pace of entering the world market. LG Chem has a total of 39 bio-balance products certified by "ISCC PLUS" and is transforming its business structure centered on eco-friendly materials. According to LG Chem, the carbon reduction effect of bio-balanced NPG is more than 70% compared with existing products. LG Chem said that in the future, it will expand cooperation with sustainable innovation companies to lead the field of environmentally friendly materials.
