Citing data from the General Administration of Customs, the Import and Export Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam said that Vietnam’s rubber export volume in May was expected to reach 110,000 tons, with an export value of 181 million US dollars, an increase of 40.4% and 27.9% from the previous month, and a year-on-year increase of 33.1% and 26.4%.
The average export price in May was US$1,645 per ton, down 8.9% month-on-month and 5% year-on-year. In the first five months of 2022, the cumulative export volume of rubber is about 595,000 tons, and the export value is 1.04 billion US dollars, an increase of 8.1% and 12% over the same period in 2021.
Experts in the industry commented that in the first few months of 2022, compared with the same period in 2021, the export volume and export value of various rubbers have increased significantly.
It is worth noting that the Chinese market accounts for 99.7% of Vietnam's total exports of natural and synthetic rubber.
In May 2022, the price of raw latex in Vietnam fell slightly from the end of April. In Binh Phuc province, rubber companies buy natural latex at a price of VND 305-345 per TSC (total solid content of concentrated natural latex).
