China's self-cultivated rubber tree tissue culture seedlings went abroad for the first time and

On June 10, 2,500 tissue culture seedlings of Reyan 73397, carefully cultivated by the Rubber Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, arrived in Cambodia. The Cambodian Rubber Research Institute will be responsible for demonstration planting in the main rubber producing area of Tebenkhamon Province.


This is the first time that Chinese rubber tree tissue culture seedlings have gone abroad to settle in Cambodia, and it is also another achievement of China-Cambodia agricultural cooperation. The high-efficiency and rapid propagation technology system of rubber tree self-rooted young clones (tissue culture seedlings) was independently developed and established by the Rubber Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Thermal Sciences. The technology has also won the "2021 China's Agricultural and Rural Major New Technology".


According to the Institute of Rubber, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, compared with the old budding clones, the tissue culture seedlings have recovered their juvenile state, the growth rate is 10% to 20% faster, and the yield is increased by 20% to 30%. Guangdong, Yunnan and other places have promoted and applied more than 20,000 mu, which is a new generation of advantageous planting materials.


This product and technology cooperation is carried out with the support of the "One Belt, One Road" International Natural Rubber Industry Science and Technology Innovation Institute and the Lancang-Mekong project "Natural Rubber Cultivation and Processing Technology Integration Demonstration in the Five Lancang-Mekong Countries". It is an upgraded version of China-Cambodia rubber breeding. .


In the next step, the Rubber Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences will send experts to carry out bagging seedlings, cultivation and colonization technology training and guide experimental demonstrations in Cambodia, deepen the Lancang-Mekong cooperation, and help the sustainable development of the local natural rubber industry.
