According to reports from Dubai on July 14, 2022, GlobalData, the world's leading data analysis company, predicts that between 2021 and 2026, Asia will lead the global polyethylene production capacity with a 45% share.
The latest report published by GlobalData, titled "Polyethylene Industrial Equipment Capacity and Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Forecast by Region and Country, 2021-2026, Including Details of All Plants Under Construction, Planned and Announced Projects", shows that during the forecast period Inside, Asia will have the largest new polyethylene capacity and expansion of existing polyethylene projects.
Sudarshini Ennelli, oil and gas analyst at GlobalData, said: "For upcoming new polyethylene projects, Asia is expected to add 27 million tonnes of polyethylene capacity per year to the 67 planned and announced projects."
Ennelli concluded: "India will follow with 8.99 million tonnes/year of new polyethylene capacity. The three projects with the highest new polyethylene capacity are Haldia Petrochemical's Kakinada Polyethylene Plant, Haldia Petrochemical's Kakinada Polyethylene Dia Petrochemical's Balasore Polyethylene Plant and Rajasthan Refinery Pachpadra Polyethylene Plant will have new polyethylene production capacity of 1.2 million tons, 1.1 million tons and 0.8 million tons respectively."
