The Qinghai Provincial Department of Commerce stated that in 2017, the international trade export value of Qinghai Salt Lake chemical products was 45.078 million yuan, and the export value in 2021 will reach 173 million yuan, with an average annual growth of 40.02%. In 2017, the export value of salt lake chemical products accounted for only 1.6% of the total export value of the province, and in 2021, the proportion will reach 10.2%, and the proportion will increase to 20.4% from January to July in 2022.

It is reported that the quality of the international trade export business of Qinghai Salt Lake chemical products has continued to improve, and the export products have gradually upgraded from low value-added products such as calcium chloride and magnesium chloride, which cost less than 1,000 yuan per ton, to polyvinyl chloride, which costs about 7,000 yuan per ton. To lithium iron phosphate of about 100,000 yuan per ton and lithium metal of about 1 million yuan per ton. In particular, relying on the advantages of salt lake lithium resources, the international trade and export of lithium iron phosphate in Qinghai Province occupies a leading position in the country. In the first seven months of this year, the total export volume of lithium iron phosphate in Qinghai Province accounted for 53.4% of the national total.
