On August 31, 2017, Baling Petrochemical completed and put into operation the first domestic thermoplastic rubber SEPS (hydrogenated styrene/isoprene copolymer) industrialization unit with an annual output of 20000 tons (this project is Sinopec's "ten dragon" science and technology research project), becoming the third enterprise in the world to industrialize the production of SEPS using core technologies with independent intellectual property rights, filling the gap in the development and production of SEPS products in China, and breaking the long-term monopoly of American and Japanese enterprises, It is a milestone in the research and development of complete set of thermoplastic rubber technology innovation.

On February 1, 2021, Sinopec's key project and Baling Petrochemical's 50000 ton SEBS industrial unit construction project will be completed and put into operation. In the same year, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation evaluated 15 innovative products of new chemical materials in 2021. Among them, the medical SEBS developed and produced by Baling Petrochemical was selected as one of the two new material products selected by Sinopec.

According to the observation report on the import and export data of Huacheng, since 2021, Baling Petrochemical has successively cooperated with Hainan Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. to jointly invest in the construction of styrene based thermoplastic elastomer (SBC) projects with an annual output of 170000 tons and 250000 tons based on a 50% to 50% share ratio, optimize the development layout of synthetic materials, and further enhance the core competitiveness of the enterprise by "going out" to develop superior products in regions with raw materials and markets.

Capacity scale will be the largest in the world

Today, as the largest thermoplastic rubber manufacturer in China, Baling Petrochemical Company's headquarters has an annual production capacity of 380000 tons of SBS, SEBS, SIS, SSBR and SEPS series products.
