In June 2022, the Standardization Committee of the Four Treasures of Study Association of China officially launched the preparation of four group standards, namely, "Four Treasures of Study Professional Ink", "Four Treasures of Study Professional Inkstone", "Four Treasures of Study Professional Writing Brush", and "Four Treasures of Study Professional Calligraphy and Painting Paper", in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Administrative Measures for Group Standards of the Four Treasures of Study Association of China". It is reported that in the drafting stage of the standard formulation, the members of the group standard preparation team collected relevant domestic standards and relevant technical data, widely solicited opinions and suggestions from major production areas around the country, covered the characteristics of different production processes, raw materials and products to the maximum extent, and conducted research and discussion on the technical problems of the standard with many experts and scholars from China Forestry University, the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other scientific research institutions. During the consultation stage of standard formulation, the Secretariat of the Standardization Committee distributed the draft in the form of a letter to relevant manufacturers of the Four Treasures of Study, with a total of 71 widely consulted opinions. After more than six months of hard work, the group standard preparation team completed the draft for review in January 2023, and the Standardization Committee of the Four Treasures of Study Association of China promptly organized an expert review meeting. In order to make the standards more operable and the standard review work more scientific, the selection process of experts involved seven levels, including production enterprises, art colleges, training institutions, calligraphy and painting associations, sales enterprises, quality inspection institutions, and industry associations, with a total of 19 people. On January 9th, 10th, and 16th, technical reviews were conducted for the four group bids of "Four Treasures of Study Professional Ink", "Four Treasures of Study Professional Inkstone", "Four Treasures of Study Professional Brush", and "Four Treasures of Study Professional Calligraphy and Painting Paper". After strict review, on-site questioning, and real-time Q&A, a standard draft for approval was finally formed and submitted to the China Association of Four Treasures of Study for approval.
