In 2020, my country's total printed matter imports and exports totaled 14.099 billion U.S. dollars, a decrease of 2.224 billion U.S. dollars from the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of 13.62%; among them, imports were 2.516 billion U.S. dollars, exports were 11.583 billion U.S. dollars, and the trade balance was 9.67 billion U.S. dollars.

Packaging printed matter is the main export product of the printing industry

In 2020, domestic printed matter exports were 11.583 billion U.S. dollars. Among them, the export of publications and printed matter was US$1.565 billion, the export of packaging printed matter was US$5.457 billion, and the export of commercial printed matter was US$4.561 billion. The export of publication printed matter, packaging printed matter and commercial printed matter accounted for 14%, 47% and 39% of the total domestic printed matter export value, respectively.

In order of import and export value, the top 10 domestic printed products exports in 2020 are foldable boxes/boxes made of non-corrugated paper or cardboard, boxes/boxes made of corrugated paper or cardboard, paper bags, booklets, etc., and their exports account for domestic printed matter exports. 81% of the total value.
