Mondi, a global leader in the packaging and paper industry, is working with Japanese consumer goods manufacturer Kao to create a recyclable, lightweight packaging solution for its Goldwell shiny hair products. The new stand-up pouches reduce the use of plastic without compromising strength and durability, supporting Kao and its hair business' efforts to reduce their environmental footprint and helping the hair department run their business more sustainably.

Goldwell is a high-quality hairdressing brand under the Kao Hairdressing Division, the fourth largest professional hair care company in the world. The product was previously packaged in rigid plastic containers, however, through its partnership with Mondi and its EcoSolutions program, Kao has reduced plastic usage by 80%.

Mondee's innovative solution packs powdered products in reusable stand-up pouches, which are made from a single material and are fully recyclable.

Empty bags can be folded flat to ensure efficient transport to the factory. When filled, they provide optimum protection for the product from contact with moisture or steam inside the bag. This packaging is completely safe because chemicals cannot diffuse through tightly sealed packaging. For convenience, the pack also comes with a recyclable top slider and moisture barrier for easy resealing.
