From January to June 2022, the cumulative output of domestic machine-made paper and cardboard was 67.7239 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%. The output in June was 11.855 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.50%. The cumulative export volume from January to June increased by 64.1% year-on-year.

From the data point of view, it is expected that the overall operating rate of domestic papermaking enterprises is not high in the first half of the year. However, under the promotion of RCEP, the export volume of domestic papermaking enterprises to Southeast Asia and other regions has increased, and the overall export orders have maintained a relatively good trend. Last week, domestic paper prices were relatively stable, but there were certain differences. The prices of containerboard, white cardboard, double-coated paper and coated paper remained stable on a week-on-week basis, while the prices of corrugated paper and white board fell by 25/ton and 100/ton.

In terms of raw materials, the price of pulp continued to fluctuate at a high level. The price of domestic softwood pulp fell slightly by 28.33/ton, the price of hardwood pulp rose slightly, the price of international softwood pulp rose by 4 US dollars/ton, and the price of hardwood pulp remained stable. The price of domestic waste paper expanded week-on-week, with waste book paper down nearly 50/ton, and waste yellow cardboard down 120/ton. The disturbance of overseas supply side factors has caused the pulp price to fluctuate at a high level, but the pulp price is expected to gradually return to a reasonable range in the second half of the year. The cost margin of pulp and paper products will gradually improve, and pulp and paper integrated enterprises will have more cost advantages and profit resilience.
