Customs data shows that the national wood pulp market output increased by 4.48% to 10.5 million tons

2022-12-28

According to the historical situation of the past five years (2017-2021), Huanyang Market Consulting released the Report on the Overall Size, Major Manufacturers, Major Regions, Product and Application Segmentation of Global Market Wood Pulp in 2022, which analyzes the overall size of global wood pulp in the past few years, the size of major regions, the size and share of major enterprises, the size of major product categories, and the scale of major downstream applications. Scale analysis includes sales volume, price, revenue and market share. For the prediction of the development prospect of wood pulp in the next few years, this paper predicts that by 2028, it mainly includes the prediction of global and major regional sales and revenue, the prediction of classified sales and revenue, and the prediction of sales and revenue of mainly applied wood pulp.

It is classified according to pulping materials, pulping methods and pulp uses, such as sulfate coniferous wood pulp, mechanical wood pulp, refined wood pulp, etc. Wood pulp is mainly used, accounting for more than 90% of the pulp. Wood pulp is not only used for paper making, but also widely used in other industrial sectors. Therefore, for the pulp containing a large proportion of latewood, in the medium beating, especially in the sticky beating, the method of successively dropping the knife or gradually reducing the knife distance should be adopted at a lower specific pressure and higher concentration.

In the context of the slowing growth of the demand for cultural paper, the growth of the demand for household paper can strongly stimulate the consumption of the wood pulp market. In horizontal comparison, China's per capita consumption of tissue is only 6kg/person year, which is far lower than that of developed countries. In the context of the slowing growth of China's demand for cultural paper, the demand for tissue is expected to become a new driving force for the growth of pulp demand.

According to customs data, 299000 tons of pulp were imported at Manzhouli Port in the first seven months of this year, up 11.6% year on year; The value was 1.36 billion, up 43.8% year on year. It is worth mentioning that customs data show that in July this year, the import of pulp at Manzhouli Port was 34000 tons, an increase of 8% year on year; The value was 190 million, up 63.5% year on year. In the first July of this year, the value of pulp imports at Manzhouli Port, China's largest land port, exceeded 1.3 billion. This is related to the large growth of domestic wood pulp market demand and the increase of import volume in the first half of this year.

In the pulp of early wood and late wood, the proportion of early wood and late wood is different. The pulp quality obtained by beating under the same beating conditions is also different. The late wood fiber is long, the cell wall is thick and hard, the birth wall is not easy to be damaged, the fiber is easy to be cut off during beating, and it is difficult to absorb water, moisten and fine fiber.

According to customs data, China is one of the largest wood pulp consumers, and is unable to effectively achieve self-sufficiency in pulp raw materials due to the lack of forest resources. Wood pulp mainly depends on imports. In 2020, the proportion of wood pulp imports will be 63.2%, down 1.5 percentage points compared with 2019.

From the regional distribution of China's wood pulp industry, the forest land resources in East and South China are widely distributed, and the wood pulp production capacity in China is mainly distributed in East and South China. According to customs data, the sum of South China and East China accounts for more than 90% of China's wood pulp production capacity. Due to the limited forest land resources in China and the impact of environmental protection and other measures, there are a large number of wastelands in the north that have not yet been opened, which may become the key to the development of plantation in the future.

The output of China's wood pulp industry has grown rapidly, and the growth rate has accelerated since 2015. According to customs data, China's wood pulp output will reach 1490 in 2020, an increase of 17.5% compared with 2019.

From the overall proportion of wood pulp in the pulp industry, the proportion of wood pulp output in the overall pulp industry in China has increased year by year, reaching 20.2% by 2020. Non wood pulp (mainly including reed pulp, cane sugar pulp, bamboo pulp, rice wheat straw pulp, etc.) accounts for 7.1%. Driven by policies, the output of waste pulp has grown rapidly, accounting for 72.7% in 2020, which is the main source of pulp.

According to the survey data of China Paper Association, the total pulp production in China increased by 0.30% to 79.49 million tons. Of which: 10.5 million tons of wood pulp industry, up 4.48%; 63.02 million tons of waste pulp; Non wood pulp increased by 1.02% to 5.97 million tons. It is better to beat hardwood pulp with lower beating specific pressure and higher beating concentration. The fiber of softwood pulp is relatively long, generally 2-3.5 mm. It is not suitable to cut too much fiber when producing cement bag paper. However, when it is used to produce a certain medium thin paper, such as typing paper, oil seal paper, etc., it needs to be cut to 0.8-1.5 mm to meet the evenness requirements of the paper. Therefore, the refining process conditions can be determined according to the requirements of paper grade.
