Customs data shows that in 2022, China's proportion of clothing imports to the United States significantly decreased. Customs data shows that in 2021, the United States' clothing imports from China increased by 31%, decreased by 3% in 2022, and imports from other countries increased by 10.9%.

Customs data shows that in 2022, China's proportion of clothing imports to the United States decreased from 37.8% to 34.7%, while the proportion of other countries increased from 62.2% to 65.3%.

In many cotton product series, there has been a double-digit decline in imports to China, while chemical fiber products have the opposite trend. According to customs data, China's import volume of men's/boys' knitted shirts made of chemical fibers increased by 22.4% year-on-year, while the import volume of women's/girls' shirts decreased by 15.4%.

Compared to before the 2019 pandemic, the import volume of many categories of clothing from the United States to China in 2022 has significantly decreased, while the import volume to other regions has significantly increased, indicating that the United States' clothing imports are moving away from China.

Customs data shows that in 2022, the unit price of clothing imports from the United States to China and other regions rebounded, with year-on-year increases of 14.4% and 13.8%, respectively. In the long run, as work and production costs rise, the competitive advantage of Chinese products in the international market will be affected.
