Increase in foreign trade orders and improve mentality; cotton yarn prices in South India remain sta

2023-06-25

According to foreign news on June 20, cotton yarn prices in Mumbai and Tirupur remained stable on Tuesday. The average demand in South India is enough to keep the cotton yarn price at the current level. According to a trade report, the procurement level in downstream industries is currently considerable. Tirupur garment exporters have begun to receive some foreign trade orders. If these foreign trade orders are substantial, it is expected that they will have a significant impact on the yarn market next week. The price of Mumbai cotton yarn is still at its previous level, and although the consumer industry regularly purchases, the quantity is limited.

Cotton yarn prices remain stable and demand is average. If the market is supported by the clothing industry, yarn prices may show an upward trend.

In Mumbai, 60 counts of combed warp and weft yarns are priced at INR 1450-1480 and INR 1320-1340 per 5 kilograms (excluding goods and services tax), INR 335-345 per kilogram for 60 counts of combed warp, INR 1400-1430 per 4.5 kilograms for 80 counts of combed weft, INR 264-272 per kilogram for 44/46 counts of combed warp, INR 256-264 per kilogram for 40/41 counts of combed warp, and INR 277-282 per kilogram for 40/41 counts of combed warp.

It is rumored that there are some foreign trade orders from international brands. The scale of these foreign trade orders is unknown, but the yarn market is very optimistic. The price of cotton yarn has remained stable in the past few days. Tirupur traders said: "If the scale of export orders is large, it may support the yarn market. The impact of foreign trade orders will be reflected in the yarn market next week. At present, the demand is at an average level, which should maintain the yarn price."

In the Tirupur market, the price of 30 combed yarns is 264-270 rupees per kilogram (excluding goods and service tax), 34 combed yarns are 275-280 rupees per kilogram, 40 combed yarns are 285-292 rupees per kilogram, 30 combed yarns are 240-245 rupees per kilogram, 34 combed yarns are 247-252 rupees per kilogram, and 40 combed yarns are 250-257 rupees per kilogram.

After the interruption caused by cyclone "Biparjoy" in Gubang, cotton trading has resumed. Due to the subsequent impact of the cyclone, some markets remain closed. The transaction price of cotton is 57500-58000 rupees per candy (1 candy=356 kilograms). Due to the fact that many markets are still closed, it is impossible to estimate the arrival of cotton. Trade sources report that the rainfall after the cyclone is beneficial for cotton planting. Farmers have started planting, which may increase the planting area in Gubang.
