Vietnam's "Vinanet" website reported on May 19: According to preliminary statistics from Vietnam Customs, Vietnam imported nearly US$1.5 billion in textile and leather raw materials in the first quarter of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%. Mainland China is the largest market that provides textile and leather raw materials to Vietnam.
According to reports, in the first quarter, Vietnam imported 714 million US dollars of textile and leather raw materials from China, an increase of 32.4% year-on-year, accounting for 47.6% of Vietnam's total imports of textile and leather raw materials. Imports from South Korea are about 130 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 5.8%, accounting for 8.6%.
According to the report, Vietnam’s imports of textile and leather raw materials from the United States in March increased by 55.7% compared with February. Generally speaking, Vietnam imported 110 million US dollars of textile and leather raw materials from the United States in the first quarter, a slight increase of 1.6% year-on-year, accounting for 7.3 %.
