The latest "China·Keqiao Textile Index" (hereinafter referred to as "Index") released by the China Textile City Construction Management Committee shows that in May this year, the textile and apparel foreign trade prosperity index of Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province rose 6.28% month-on-month, and foreign trade prices The index rose by 3.96% month-on-month, and foreign trade rebounded significantly. The "Index" predicts that textile and apparel exports will continue to grow in the second quarter of this year, but the growth rate will return to a normal level.

Keqiao District is located in the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta, and is the location of China Textile City, the largest professional fabric market in Asia. At present, the market handles more than 50,000 types of textiles. Nearly a quarter of the world's textiles are traded here, and textiles are exported to 192 countries and regions.

The "Index" pointed out that the international trade environment has become increasingly complex and changeable due to multiple impacts such as the continuous rise in commodity prices, fluctuations in raw material prices, and port congestion. Under this environment, in May this year, the foreign trade orders of Keqiao textile industry rebounded from the previous month. Among them, the foreign trade prosperity index of chemical fiber filament fabrics rose 15.74% from the previous month, which drove the foreign trade prosperity index to rise from the previous month.

Government and enterprises have joined hands to create an "Internet + foreign trade" platform, which has brought new opportunities for textile trade.

"Index" analysis shows that since this year, in order to help foreign trade companies open up the market, the Keqiao District Government has actively organized companies to participate in online and offline exhibitions, and guided companies to explore new forms of trade such as market procurement, cross-border e-commerce, and live broadcasting. Among them, the Keqiao Park of China (Shaoxing) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone and China Textile City, established in Keqiao, have been operating steadily, helping foreign trade to "climb the slopes and hurdles".

In May, while the foreign trade prosperity index of textiles and apparel rose from a month-on-month basis, the foreign trade price index also showed a month-on-month rise. Specifically, the foreign trade price index closed at 177.73 points, an increase of 3.96% from the previous month. Among them, the foreign trade price index of chemical fiber filament fabrics, curtains and draperies rose more month-on-month, which drove the month-on-month increase in the foreign trade price index in May.

The higher foreign trade price index is inseparable from the modern development of the local textile industry chain. As the largest chemical fiber fabric production base and printing and dyeing processing base in Asia, in recent years, Keqiao District has promoted the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing and the transformation and upgrading of the printing and dyeing industry, and promoted the development of the textile industry with advanced technology, modern systems, and cultural creativity.

For example, in the face of the wave of global digital transformation, the blueprint fashion town in Keqiao District is moving towards the direction of "printing and dyeing brain" and "unmanned factory". Walking into the industrial Internet "cockpit" of a printing and dyeing company in the small town, progress tracking, process monitoring and other information beating in real time, data analysis can effectively improve product quality.

Regarding the future trend of textile foreign trade, the "Index" analyzes that due to the uncertainty of the timing and extent of global consumer demand recovery, it is expected that exports will continue to grow in the second quarter of this year, but the growth rate will return to normal levels, and the export of bulk commodities such as textiles and clothing will Continue to achieve restorative growth.
