Export scale hit a record high in the past five years


From January to May, our country’s textile product exports amounted to US$12.62 billion, an increase of 60.4% over the same period last year and an increase of 21.8% over the same period in 2019. The export scale hit a record high in the same period in the past five years. At the same time, the export of home textile products accounted for 11.2% of the total export of textile and apparel products, which was 43 percentage points higher than the growth rate of the overall export of textiles and apparel, effectively stimulating the recovery of the overall export growth of the industry. In the first five months, exports of home textile products to the world’s top 20 single-country markets have maintained growth. Among them, exports to the US market have the highest growth rate, with exports of US$4.15 billion, an increase of 75.4% over the same period last year and an increase of 31.5 over the same period in 2019. %, accounting for 32.9% of the total export of home textile products.


In addition, the export of home textile products to the EU also maintained rapid growth, with an export value of US$1.63 billion, an increase of 48.5% over the same period last year, an increase of 9.6% over the same period in 2019, and accounting for 12.9% of the total export of home textile products;


The growth rate of home textile products exports to the Japanese market is relatively stable, with exports of US$1.14 billion, an increase of 15.4% over the same period last year, an increase of 7.5% over the same period in 2019, and accounting for 9% of the total exports of home textile products.


From the perspective of regional markets, exports to Latin America, ASEAN and North America have grown rapidly, with an increase of between 75% and 120%.


The export growth rate of the top five provinces and cities is above 50%


Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanghai and Guangdong rank the top five textile export provinces and cities in the country, with export growth rates of more than 50%. The five provinces together accounted for 82.5% of the country's total textile exports, and the export provinces and cities are relatively concentrated. Among other provinces and cities, Tianjin, Hubei, Chongqing, and Shaanxi provinces and cities have experienced rapid growth in their exports, all of which are more than doubled.


Importers maintain optimistic sales expectations and environmental protection concepts are more concerned by consumers

The project is funded by the Wal-Mart Foundation and implemented by Accelerating Circularity Inc., and is intended to establish a waste textile from collection, classification, raw material pretreatment, fiber production, spinning, weaving, to product design, manufacturing, marketing and retail.
