The "Japan Silk Industry Development Cooperative Association" will start to build a new mechanism: Uzbekistan in Central Asia will be used as the stage to implement high-quality raw silk production technical guidance, etc., so as to provide a stable supply of raw silk to Japan. The group will seek to achieve high brand strength. While distinguishing the silk produced in Japan, we strive to achieve the development of the entire Japanese silk industry by using raw silk from the Silk Road countries.
According to the organization and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, China and India account for 97.5% of the global raw silk production. Uzbekistan, which ranks third in the world in production after China and India, is mainly used for thick silk such as Persian carpets, which is widely used in Japan. The production technology of filaments is still in the development stage. The group will guide the production technology of raw silk for Japan in the local area, and provide assistance for the stable procurement of high-quality raw silk.
