The silkworm scale of Hechi City, the "New Silk Capital of China", has always ranked first in the country with districts and cities. In 2021, it will produce 5,978 tons of white silk, accounting for more than 40% of Guangxi's total output. "Silkworm cocoon silk is an industrial chain. In addition to the traditional white silk, there are also a series of products such as frozen silkworm chrysalis, silkworm sand organic fertilizer, dried silkworms, and silk fabrics. We hope that these products can be sold overseas, thereby promoting the entire industry. The internationalization of the chain.” said Xu Jun, head of Hechi Customs.

Affected by factors such as the trade situation and international logistics, since 2020, Hechi's traditional white factory silk export orders have continued to shrink. In order to help enterprises to bail out, Hechi Customs stayed at the factory and worked with enterprises to find a way. At the same time, by leveraging technology, a new mode of "registration + remote image-assisted quarantine" inspection of raw silk for export was tailored to improve the efficiency of export customs clearance.

According to statistics, from January to May this year, Hechi City inspected 287.3 tons of various exported silkworm cocoons and silk products, with an output value of 46.812 million yuan, an increase of 140% and 680% year-on-year respectively.
