Mirziyoyev said that in recent years, climate change has brought new challenges to cotton production, especially this year's abnormally high temperature, which has made cotton production encounter an emergency. All resources must be mobilized, potentials must be mobilized, and scientific breeding, selection, fertilization and irrigation must be carried out. and pest control to maintain cotton production. In the future, Uzbekistan will increase the export value of textiles to 9 billion US dollars, of which cotton production is the foundation. If the cotton production cannot be increased, the above goal cannot be achieved.

At the meeting, Abdul Rakhmonov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Cotton Production Committee and Minister of Innovation and Development, introduced that some cotton fields do not bear peaches or have few peaches, and they encounter more pests and diseases due to climate change. , and adjust drip irrigation to deal with climate change, and put forward 7 suggestions.

In order to implement the request of the President of Uzbekistan to ensure the cotton harvest, Uzbekistan will hold a "30-day battle" in all regions to ensure the cotton harvest with scientific methods. Mirziyoyev also asked Deputy Agriculture Minister Deshayev to walk into cotton clusters and farms with state governors and experts to impart scientific knowledge and solutions to them.
