On the afternoon of August 31, 2022, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles convened a coordination meeting for anti-dumping sunset review and response to Pakistan polyester filament yarn. Deputy Secretary-General Xiao Ling first introduced the export situation of my country's textile and garment products to the world and the trade remedy investigation of the industry this year. From January to July this year, the import and export volume of textiles and clothing reached 208.367 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 10.72%. Among them, the export was 194.664 billion US dollars, an increase of 13.12%; the import was 13.7 billion US dollars, a decrease of 14.88%, and the cumulative trade surplus was 180.964 billion US dollars. As of the end of August 2022, China's textile and apparel had encountered 11 trade remedy investigations launched by foreign countries. The number of cases was the same as that of the same period last year, and the total amount involved was US$1.992 billion. Under the guidance of the Trade Remedy Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, and with the support of various provincial departments of commerce, I will follow up the information of the above 11 cases in time, organize a coordination meeting for responding to lawsuits for key cases, inform enterprises of the progress of the cases, and guide enterprises to respond to cases. v. Deputy Secretary-General Xiao encouraged enterprises to actively participate in industry defense and safeguard their own interests. I will make full use of the four-body linkage mechanism, and work with the Ministry of Commerce, local provincial departments, and companies involved in the case to do a good job of organizing and responding to the case.

Deputy Director Wang Lei introduced the current situation of Pakistan's economy with severe inflation and the background of this case. Director Wang said that the Ministry of Relief Bureau will actively form a linkage with the front, and suggested that enterprises should seize the time to actively respond to the lawsuit and deal with it seriously. Enterprises can form alliances with downstream customers in importing countries and make good use of the strengths of all parties to form synergies. Give full play to the power of industry damage defense and enterprise dumping defense to achieve favorable results in this case.

Due to the high amount of money involved in this case, both China and Pakistan attach great importance to the progress of this case. The Legal Department of the Textile Chamber of Commerce will actively cooperate with the Relief Bureau of the Ministry, organize enterprises to do a good job in responding to the lawsuit, and help the case achieve a good result.

In the communication session, according to the company's report, Pakistan has been affected by the shortage of foreign exchange, the domestic demand has decreased recently, the collection of foreign exchange from July to August has been delayed, the transaction risk has increased, and the company's attitude towards Pakistan's exports has become more cautious. Pakistan is an important export market for China's polyester filament yarn, and the company expressed that it will actively participate in responding to the lawsuit and safeguard its own export interests.
