The customs data showed that the main clothing exporting countries were the United States, Japan, South Korea, China, and Canada, accounting for 78% of the total clothing exports.

According to customs statistics, from January to June 2022, Vietnam's apparel exports to the United States totaled US$9.094 billion, accounting for 50.88% of total apparel exports. The total value of clothing exports to Japan was US$1.635 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.15%; the total value of clothing exports to South Korea was US$1.556 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.71%; the total value of clothing exports to China was US$793 million, a year-on-year increase of 4.44%; The total value of clothing exported was 732 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4.10%. According to customs data, other countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium, and Switzerland each account for between 1% and 2% of Vietnam’s apparel exports.

However, under the influence of inflation and consumption decline in the EU and the United States, customs data showed that export orders for Vietnam's textile garment and footwear industries gradually decreased since July, and orders in the fourth quarter are worrying. At present, some large textile and garment enterprises with more orders have shared orders with small enterprises that lack orders, and some enterprises are developing new market opportunities, such as India and Pakistan.
