Recently, many international exhibitions have been held offline as scheduled, and more and more Chinese foreign trade enterprises have packed their bags and gone abroad to participate. On site exhibition not only enables enterprises to get to know more partners and broaden the sales market, but also helps enterprises to more accurately understand the changes in demand in the international trade market and the development trend of the industry.
Enterprises participate overseas to seek business opportunities
Participating in international exhibitions will help foreign trade enterprises speed up the pace of expanding the international trade market. From November 15 to 17, at the 22nd Australia China Textile and Garment Exhibition held in Melbourne Exhibition Center, textile and garment foreign trade enterprises from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Fujian, Shandong, Jiangxi, Beijing, Shanghai and other provinces and cities all made great achievements.
This exhibition was jointly sponsored by China Chamber of Commerce for Textile Importers and Exporters and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce. The exhibition area is about 3200 square meters, attracting 152 enterprises to participate in the exhibition, including more than 60 enterprises that went to overseas sites to participate in the exhibition. The exhibits covered clothing, home textiles, fabrics, shoes, bags, intimate underwear, swimwear, clothing and other product categories, with a total of 3686 professional merchants attending the exhibition to purchase.
International trade enterprises participating in the exhibition generally said that the on-site exhibition enabled them to timely understand the actual needs of buyers through face-to-face communication, not only to obtain orders and expand the market, but also to clarify the direction of enterprise product function improvement and product structure adjustment.
However, at present, the cost of international business travel for personnel is high, and not every enterprise has the strength to participate in overseas field exhibitions. For this reason, this exhibition innovatively provides the service of "acting as an exhibitor". The organizer or group organization organizes business assistants to receive customers on behalf of exhibitors at the booth, which not only enables exhibitors to display their exhibits on site, but also provides a platform for real-time connection and negotiation between exhibitors and buyers.
Many textile and garment enterprises in Shaoxing, Zhejiang have met new overseas customers at this exhibition through the mode of "acting as exhibitors". Shaoxing Yuecheng District Bureau of Commerce has developed the application of "one code to find orders". By assigning two-dimensional codes to offline exhibits and scanning the codes to establish online real-time inquiry and negotiation, efficient docking is achieved and orders are finally concluded. During the exhibition, 47 textile and garment enterprises participated in the exhibition in groups, showing 2805 samples. Many buyers made real-time inquiries and negotiations through the application of "one yard for orders".
Cao Jiachang, president of the China Textile Chamber of Commerce, said that during the meeting, Shaoxing Yuecheng District had more than 252 online code scanning and browsing customers, more than 600 offline customers were received, more than 5467 online code scanning and browsing products, more than 817 online real-time inquiries, and the intended turnover was about $13.04 million. Foreign trade enterprises from Huzhou, Zhejiang received 219 customers, with an intended turnover of 2.9 million dollars.
"The effect of participating in the exhibition through the" agent exhibition "service is really good. During the exhibition, we received more than 20 customers' business cards, and also met some new customers in Australia." Zhang Xiuling, general manager of Huzhou Linbo Textile Co., Ltd., which is engaged in the export of women's fashion, said that this was the second time that the company had participated in international exhibitions through the "agent exhibition" mode. The "agent exhibition" mode, which saves time, effort and expense, made the company's business negotiations more efficient with less effort.
Business associations take many measures to help
In order to help enterprises seize orders, expand the international trade market, and promote the stability and quality of foreign trade, CCPIT has coordinated epidemic prevention and control and the approval and management of overseas trade exhibitions, and actively promoted the pilot approval of overseas exhibition projects in key countries, key industries, and key exhibitions.
At the regular press conference of CCPIT in November, Sun Xiao, spokesman of CCPIT and secretary-general of the China Chamber of International Commerce, said that since the end of August, CCPIT has officially accepted applications for overseas trade and economic exhibitions organized by national organizations in innovative forms such as "participating in overseas online exhibitions", "participating on behalf of exhibitors" and "remote offline exhibitions". At present, the approval of the first batch of 22 innovative exhibition plans by the end of 2022 has been completed.
"At the beginning of November, we issued the Notice on Doing a Good Job in the First Batch of Pilot Examination and Approval Projects for Overseas Economic and Trade Exhibitions. At present, we have completed the first batch of 15 pilot examination and approval projects for overseas economic and trade exhibitions from November 2022 to February 2023, covering 8 countries, including Germany, the United States and the United Arab Emirates, involving textile, auto parts, sports goods, electronics, consumer goods and other fields. The minimum exhibition size is about 100 square meters, and the maximum exhibition size is 10000 square meters." Sun Xiao said that CCPIT, together with relevant ministries and commissions, will strengthen the support and guidance for the above overseas trade and economic exhibition projects, and formulate and issue the Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 Epidemic in the Delegation of the Pilot Approval Project for Holding Economic and Trade Exhibitions Abroad in accordance with the requirements of the relevant regulations of the National Health Commission to help exhibition organizers do a good job in the prevention and control of the epidemic. Next, CCPIT will start the solicitation, selection and approval of follow-up projects in due time according to the implementation of the first batch of pilot projects and the suggestions of enterprises.
In order to help enterprises "go out to sea" to grab orders, various industry associations are also taking active actions. Recently, China Construction Machinery Industry Association released a plan to organize member units and industrial enterprises to participate in 2023-2024 overseas exhibitions, involving several international exhibitions such as India International Engineering Machinery, Building Materials Machinery, Mining Machinery, Engineering Vehicles and Equipment Exhibition, American Engineering Machinery Exhibition and France International Engineering Machinery and Building Materials Machinery Exhibition.
Cao Jiachang revealed that next year, the Textile Chamber of Commerce will organize Chinese textile and clothing enterprises to participate in several international exhibitions, including the International Baby Cart and Maternal and Child Products (Shenzhen) Exhibition, the Australia China Textile and Clothing Exhibition (two sessions), the Miami Clothing and Textile Procurement Exhibition, and the Canada Clothing and Textile Procurement Exhibition, to help textile and clothing foreign trade enterprises further expand the international market and improve the international trade market share of their products.
