On April 3rd, the cross-border rail and public transportation train (Chongqing Ruili Myanmar) of the Land Sea New Channel departed from the Xiaonanya Railway Logistics Center in Luohuang Lingang Industrial City, Jiangjin District, Chongqing, and was exported to Myanmar through the Wanding Port in Ruili City, Yunnan Province. This train is the first cross-border rail and public transportation train operated in China through the Ruili Port for export through the new land sea channel between China and Myanmar. It is loaded with 32 40 foot containers of "Made in Chongqing" motorcycle parts, chemicals, and other goods, with a value of approximately 16.34 million yuan. It marks the opening of a new path for Chongqing to connect with Myanmar and Southeast Asia through the Ruili Port in Yunnan, and the international trade and economic cooperation between China and Myanmar has ushered in new opportunities.

It is reported that the operation of this train is a positive response to the specific measures proposed by Chongqing Municipal Party Secretary Yuan Jiajun to promote the joint construction and sharing of the China Myanmar Channel. This route significantly shortens the transportation distance and cost from Chongqing to Myanmar, saving about 20 days compared to traditional river sea intermodal transportation, which is beneficial for enterprises to further optimize the international trade logistics mode and route, and achieve more stable development of the industrial and supply chains along the line.

For Chongqing, the main initiator, promoter, and important builder of the construction of the western land sea new channel, opening up the new path of the China Myanmar international channel is conducive to closer connection with countries along the RCEP line, accelerating the construction of the western land sea new channel, further enhancing the opening level of the logistics hub of Chongqing's land port type countries, and strengthening international trade, economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between the Chengdu Chongqing region and other western provinces and Southeast Asian and South Asian countries, It is of positive significance to jointly build the "the Belt and Road" and the China Myanmar Economic Corridor, and unblock the domestic and international double circulation.

Liu Wei, director of the Logistics and Operation Organization Center of the Western Land and Sea New Channel, said: "In recent years, Chongqing has joined hands with other provinces and cities to jointly build and share. The outbound capacity has achieved leapfrog development, reform and innovation have continued to make breakthroughs, the logistics hub has been initially completed, the open economy has continued to grow, and the Western Land and Sea New Channel has more and more participants, with a better development trend."

It is reported that Chongqing and Yunnan have long maintained close contact in jointly building new land sea channels, unblocking the China Myanmar Economic Corridor, and strengthening connectivity with RCEP countries. On April 2nd, Chongqing Co., Ltd., Chongqing Jiangjin Comprehensive Bonded Zone Development Group Co., Ltd., and Dehongzhou Infrastructure Investment Co., Ltd. signed the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement for Jointly Building the Western Land Sea New Channel".

According to the agreement, the three parties will fully leverage their respective advantages, carry out cooperation in areas such as channel logistics, international trade and economic exchanges, and industrial development around the joint construction of the western land sea new channel, explore the creation of a comprehensive supply chain service platform for the land sea new channel, deeply cultivate the industrial chain, cultivate a strong market, and achieve win-win development.

Next, Chongqing will further leverage its role as the logistics and operation organization center of the Western Land Sea New Channel, collaborate with Yunnan to better discuss and jointly build and share the Western Land Sea New Channel, promote coordinated regional economic development, serve domestic and international dual circulation, and promote international trade development.
