On March 28th, with a long whistle, a China Europe train loaded with 29 brick red cage carriages slowly started from Shijiazhuang International Land Port and headed west to Kazakhstan. This is the first commercial vehicle export cage train operating in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, opening up an efficient and convenient international trade logistics channel for Beijing Tianjin Hebei brand car companies to seize market share in international trade.

This train is jointly operated by Shijiazhuang International Inland Port and China Railway Special Cargo Logistics Co., Ltd., and is transported by special cage cars of China Railway Special Cargo Truck. A total of 261 Great Wall Motor are loaded, with a value of more than 31 million yuan. After arriving at Khorgos Port, the train enters Kazakhstan by road and is distributed to the five Central Asian countries.

According to the statistics of Shijiazhuang Customs, from January to February 2023, Hebei's import and export to countries along the "the Belt and Road" will be 32.67 billion yuan, an increase of 18.2% over the same period last year, including 19.25 billion yuan for export, an increase of 6.7%; Import reached 13.42 billion yuan, an increase of 39.7%. The Beijing Tianjin Hebei region achieved a total import and export value of 783.15 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6%. Among them, imports amounted to 573.78 billion yuan, an increase of 3.7%, and exports amounted to 209.37 billion yuan, an increase of 13.1%.

It is understood that in the past, commercial vehicles in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region were exported through China Europe freight trains and loaded in containers. Each container could only carry 2-3 vehicles, which not only had a small carrying capacity but also low loading and unloading efficiency. The cage car carriage is designed specifically for the transportation of commercial vehicles, with two layers inside. Each carriage can hold 9 to 10 cars. After the front and rear compartment doors are opened, the entire train can be connected from head to tail, and the commercial vehicles can directly enter the carriage. It has the characteristics of strong carrying capacity, fast loading and unloading speed, high cost efficiency, and safety and reliability.

In recent years, Shijiazhuang International Land Port has fully utilized the role of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei Land Portal and a high-level open national logistics hub, continuously strengthening its ability to serve domestic automobile manufacturers. By 2022, it achieved over 80000 transit commercial vehicles and was approved to become a national second-hand car export business area. At the same time, relying on the high-quality development of China Europe freight trains, Shijiazhuang International Trade Land Port actively cultivates and develops the automotive logistics, trade, and supply chain industry system, and creates a global hub port for commodity vehicle land transportation.

Liu Jinpeng, General Manager of Shijiazhuang International Inland Port, stated that Beijing Tianjin Hebei is one of the six major automobile industry clusters in China, with a strong momentum in automobile exports and higher requirements for international logistics and service guarantee capabilities. The operation of the cage car train this time has created new development space for optimizing the form of vehicle export business, increasing the sending scale, and helping car companies reduce costs and increase efficiency. It will effectively drive the international trade exports of car companies in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, and help domestic brand commodity cars quickly expand the international trade market.

As of March 27th, Shijiazhuang International Land Port has operated 142 China Europe freight trains this year, with a cargo value of 2.086 billion yuan, continuing to rank first among similar international land ports in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region. At present, the second full vehicle export cage train has started the loading plan.
