Since the opening of China Vietnam meter gauge international intermodal transport trains in 2017, as of June 5 this year, more than 10000 meter gauge international intermodal transport Freight train have been operated between China's mountainside port and Vietnam's Laojie port, reaching 10668, and 3.4639 million tons of goods have been transported. A stable meter-gage international trade and logistics channel provides effective protection for the production of industrial and agricultural products in both countries.

The China Vietnam Railway is the only meter gauge railway transportation channel in China and also the longest cross-border transportation artery between China and Vietnam. On December 18, 2017, with the joint efforts of railways and enterprises from both China and Vietnam, the meter gauge international intermodal train stabilized and consolidated the international trade and freight channel between China and Vietnam in the form of five scheduled trains.

Since the operation of the Sino Vietnamese meter gauge international intermodal train, China and Vietnam have optimized the organization of meter gauge cargo sources, strengthened cross-border channel construction, increased the proportion of heavy vehicle transportation, and effectively ensured the stable international trade and transportation of goods such as fertilizers and agricultural materials. The scale of train transportation continues to expand, and the types of transportation continue to increase. Cross border, cross-border, and intercontinental transportation has become the norm in meter gauge international trade and logistics between China and Vietnam, forming a stable and efficient domestic and international dual circulation international trade and transportation channel between Yunnan and Southeast Asian countries.
