According to the automobile production and sales data recently released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (hereinafter referred to as the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers), from January to May this year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China completed 2.071 million and 2.003 million respectively, an increase of 1.1 times year-on-year. In terms of automobile exports, although some regions were affected by factors such as poor international logistics and weakened domestic supply capacity in the first half of the year, China's monthly automobile exports in May this year still reached a new high for the year. Enterprises exported 245,000 vehicles in the month. Exported 966,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 44.7%.
In the context of "dual carbon", the replacement of fuel vehicles by new energy vehicles is a long-term trend. Although the new crown pneumonia epidemic has continued to affect the national automobile industry supply chain since the beginning of this year, some car companies have reduced or stopped production. However, since April, the relevant ministries and commissions of the state and local governments have strongly ensured a stable supply chain and continued to promote the resumption of work and production in the auto industry, which has achieved certain results. According to the analysis of the China Automobile Association, as the effect of epidemic prevention and control continues to show, the pace of resumption of work and production of automobile enterprises across the country is accelerated, the automobile industry chain and supply are gradually smoothed, and a series of policies and measures to promote consumption and stabilize growth have been introduced and implemented. Showing a clear recovery growth trend, especially the outstanding performance of new energy vehicles.
In May, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China reached 466,000 and 447,000 respectively, a month-on-month increase of 49.5% and 49.6%, and the market share of new energy vehicles reached 24% that month.
The analysis of the China Automobile Association pointed out that among the main varieties of new energy vehicles, compared with the previous month, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles all increased, and the growth rate of pure electric vehicles was more obvious. Compared with the same period of the previous year, the production and sales of the above-mentioned three types of products have increased rapidly, and the growth rate of fuel cell vehicles is the most significant.
Chen Shihua, deputy secretary-general of the China Automobile Association, believes that the rapid growth of new energy vehicle production and sales, on the one hand, shows consumers' recognition of new energy vehicles, and on the other hand, it also reflects that local governments regard new energy as a key to promoting the transformation, upgrading and high-quality development of the automobile industry. important direction.
The Yangtze River Delta region is an important distribution center for auto parts. With the improvement of the epidemic situation in many places, auto parts companies have accelerated the resumption of work and production, which has also led to the improvement of the supply chain of vehicle companies. For example, in Shanghai, which is a gathering place for new energy vehicle manufacturing, many OEMs have fully resumed work, basically achieving continuous and stable production.
Industry insiders said that the new energy car companies represented by the new car-making forces have launched models that have surpassed the traditional fuel vehicles with relatively high thresholds for transmissions, clutches and even engines, directly simplifying the car's power system and using electric motors as the vehicle's torque provider. , breaking the technological monopoly of traditional car companies. This also accelerates the development of automobiles in the direction of intelligence and networking.
Regarding the long-term development of new energy vehicles, the industry insiders also pointed out that consumers in areas with low charging pile penetration rates are unlikely to choose new energy vehicles, which limits the expansion speed of the new energy vehicle industry. In this regard, relevant manufacturers need to cooperate with local governments to build charging piles or other public charging facilities to solve the charging problem of consumers.
Regarding the prospects of the automobile industry in the second half of the year, Chen Shihua said that the automobile industry is currently in the late stage of popularization in my country, and the number of residents' consumption demand for automobiles is still very large. In the second quarter of this year, due to the impact of the epidemic and other factors, the industrial chain and supply chain have been greatly impacted, the terminal market has been greatly affected due to normal business operations, and consumers are waiting to see the market, resulting in large fluctuations in production and sales in the short term. In the second half of the year, with the introduction of a series of national and local policies to ensure economic growth, the policy effects will be gradually released, and the normal economic order will be restored quickly. Enterprises in the industry are making every effort to seize the important window period in the last month of the second quarter, and while stabilizing the production and sales situation in the second quarter, they are striving to maintain full-year expectations. Especially after entering June, policies such as halving the purchase tax have begun to exert force. It is expected that the production and sales situation will continue to improve in June.
